Old Hilliardfest to Welcome Angela Perley & The Howlin’ Moons to the Americana Main Stage
Old Hilliardfest is proud to announce that we will be welcoming local Hilliard-ite Angela Perley back to the Old Hilliardfest Main Stage lineup.
There is something magnetic, vulnerable, dangerous, and electric about Angela Perley that has been causing buzz around the artist and her band The Howlin’ Moons. Perley’s band features longtime friends Billy Zehnal and Chris Connor on bass and lead guitar. The band's live shows ooze with swaggering baselines and guitar riffs and their songs range from dreamy reverb-laden crooners to roots rock anthems.
Since their incarnation in 2009, the Columbus, Ohio based band has released four EPs and one album on Vital Music USA. The group’s debut album, Hey Kid (Jan 2014), has been catching praise from tastemakers including American Songwriter Magazine, Magnet Magazine, PopDose, Americana UK, and Maverick Magazine. Hey Kid made several "Best of 2014" lists, charted #6 in the EuroAmericana charts in March of 2014, and it’s single “Athens” won first place in the Americana category of the 2014 International Songwriting Competition.
We like to think that Angela began her career at the Old Hilliardfest Art & Street Fair many years ago, as she performed on Old Hilliardfest stages for several years back in the day.
We're happy that we're able to bring her back to her hometown festival after all these years and we know that she and her crew will rock the 2015 Old Hilliardfest Americana Main Stage!
