New Kid’s Fair for 2015 Old Hilliardfest
Some may be familiar with the Old Hilliardfest Art Fair, a small area of the festival that featured a number of different fine artists, an arts and crafts activity tent for children, and a small solo acoustic stage for local performers.
The Old Hilliardfest Art Fair was the birth child of, and sponsored by, the Hilliard Arts Council. Old Hilliardfest has been very grateful for the continued support from the Hilliard Arts Council over the years and looks forward to many more years as partners.
After collaboration with the Hilliard Arts Council and some careful consideration of festival attendee and vendor feedback, Old Hilliardfest organizers decided to discontinue the Art Fair starting at this year's 2015 festival. In lieu of the traditional Art Fair, artists will accompany the other hundred plus crafters, businesses, and organizations that line the streets of Old Hilliard.
Old Hilliardfest organizers and the Hilliard Arts Council believe that the festival has grown to a point where this change will greatly benefit the artists, the other street fair vendors, and the festival attendees. Organizers believe that the change will benefit artists the greatest, as they will now gain direct exposure to the nearly 10,000 festival attendees; instead of being located in a side area of the festival.
In place of the Art Fair, Old Hilliardfest and the Hilliard Arts Council are proud to announce the newest addition to the festival, the Old Hilliardfest Kid's Fair. This new addition will geographically take the place of the Art Fair, and will include vendors specifically related to children, such as daycares, pediatricians, etc.; some kid-specific food vendors; inflatables and old fashion carnival games; the traditional arts and crafts activity tent; as well as a stage with music specifically targeted to children.
The First Annual Old Hilliardfest Kid's Fair is sponsored by Pediatric Physicians, located in Mill Run, in Hilliard. Old Hilliardfest is extremely grateful to have Pediatric Physicians as a returning partner of the Old Hilliardfest Art & Street Fair.
